Yeah, there's usually a bit of a divide between folks who like the alt better and folks who like the original ending better. I don't think there's been one yet where people saw both of the endings and said "gee I can't decide which I like better". I figure it's inevitable it will eventually happen that way at least once.
There's not currently any way to see the alternate endings for the older comics. In the future there will likely be a printed book with alternate endings, but it probably won't be for a while.
